If you're like any regular human specimen, you most likely discover baseball extremely boring - it may be akin to watching grass develop or paint dry. In reality, it may be the perfect thing for you to turn on when you hit the couch after a lengthy day and all you really want is a nice, relaxing nap. Trust me, I get it. From the outdoors looking in, baseball is a bore...a yawner, if you will. It is just a bunch of guys wearing tight pants who are literally just standing around choosing daisies. There may be short periods of slight amusement for you, but those are effortlessly drowned out by the continuous, crippling lag.

To make matters worse, you are watching a game that doesn't matter... there is 162 of them! Who cares about what happens? Also, if you are a normal sports fan, you probably hate that Sports Center is about to be riddled with baseball highlights, ruining you're once surefire escape at the end of every day.

My buddy, I totally understand. Not to be concerned though, I'm here to save the day! Following all, that is my job. I am right here to say that if you've never truly given the MLB a chance, PLEASE DO! I beg you, I implore you. Here's why:

1. Details

Every game is full of nuances. I know it might take a lot of energy to (uh oh) look at the details of something. It is a lot easier to watch some gargantuan punch the living daylights out of another. The ladder offers immediate entertainment. However, the former requires a lot much more work, but, thankfully, expending that additional energy pays higher dividends. Why? Believe about the issues you adore most in life. What is it that you adore so much about them? Is it their general greatness? Or, is it each little, minute detail? Take a lover for instance - you know, the 1 that drives you CRAZY! I am sure it is every small detail that turns you on, rather than the person as a whole. Ah hah! I got ya thinkin'! In order to really appreciate something, you gotta dig the small stuff, and the little stuff is what baseball is all about. The pitcher/batter chess games, the calls from the coaches, the substitutions, the thoughts games, the shifts in the defense, the varying methods, the variations in the parks...I could actually go on and on. Do me a favor and truly watch an MLB game. Appear for the details, analyze & interpret, make your own predictions, and...appreciate! Lastly, spend close attention to the intensity of the game. Even though the game may appear nonchalant at initial, if you truly pay interest, you'll find that the game is super intense. Every small factor that goes on is calculated and definitely has a objective. The much more baseball you watch and the much more closely you analyze, the much more you will come to appreciate it! I assure it, or your money back.

two. Series

In contrast to virtually each other sport, throughout the regular season, baseball teams play in mini-series rather of the usual one game - generally three games and sometimes 4. Again, this might seem boring at first, but in reality, it tends to make the game a lot much more exciting. Because baseball is a game exactly where anybody can win on any offered day, 3 games gives you a better idea of who the better group is. Also, it is incredible to see the adjustments teams make against every other from one day to the next.

three. Season Length and Playoffs

Initially, a 162 game season might seem like overkill, to say the least. But, the beauty is that only four teams from each league make the playoffs. This means that the regular season Really MATTERS! In the NBA and NHL, the normal seasons are half as numerous games as the MLB's, but eight teams from each conference make the playoffs, which means that over half of the teams make the postseason. Because NBA and NHL teams do not play everyday, their normal seasons actually last nearly as lengthy as the MLB's the only distinction is that the regular season doesn't imply something. I appreciate watching basketball and hockey, but I continuously discover myself turned off by the fact that a given normal season game is worthless. To add insult to injury, the playoffs turn out to be very lengthy and drawn out, creating them not even that enjoyable. Baseball, even though it's a long season, usually appears to come down to a game or two. Players know this, and they play like it. The most surefire way to get into the playoffs in the MLB is to win your division, as there is only one wildcard (in contrast to the NBA and NHL, exactly where there's five). So, watching all the division battles down the stretch is very entertaining. When it comes to the playoffs, there's nothing much better. There's only three rounds, making it twice as quick as basketball and hockey. So, the atmosphere is electric, and the strategy gets elevated to astronomical levels.

4. Minor Leagues and Skill Level

The ability level in baseball is outstanding. Baseball is truly one of the toughest sports to compete in, and the level of skill between the big leagues and college/higher school is incalculable. Simply because of this, we have the minor leagues! Within the minor leagues, there are several different levels. Baseball might be 1 of the easiest sports to turn pro in (simply because the minor leagues are expert), but, on the same token, it has to be 1 of the most difficult sports to actually make it to the large show merely because the level of talent is out of this globe. Honestly, 1 of the most thrilling parts of becoming a baseball fan is following prospects. There is absolutely nothing like studying prospects, creating predictions about them, and then seeing them come up to the bigs and carry out. The leading prospects ALL have to prove themselves prior to they make it to the MLB, and there's no ridiculous contracts for anybody until they are really confirmed.
